I have trouble understand what you mean by “poor reading comprehension”. How can I enjoy reading dozens of novels a year (the most was 115) and have poor reading comprehension? How do I test for that? It really throws me for a loop. How can I enjoy something and spend so much time on it and have poor reading comprehension?

Too bad there is a paywall, I would have loved to see those pictures. Since starting this journey I find myself looking at people and realizing “oh you probably have autism”. But even with people I know, I don’t know if and how to start the conversation because I haven’t grasped the implications myself yet.

Interesting. I can’t do ANY of the things on the scale and am also super inflexible (can’t touch my toes, can’t do the split) EXCEPT that when I’m lying on my belly, I can flex back until my toes touch my head. My gym teachers could never believe I was flexible in that direction but hopeless anywhere else. Does that count?

What do you mean by sitting in a W?
EDIT: I looked it up, yeah that looks weird

The homecoming queens link is broken. Which is the one I most wanted to look at, because in all the other pictures I was like “what’s wrong about that?”.
My whole life I have struggled with how to stand in pictures. And at rest, I love standing on one leg and resting the foot of the other leg against the knee of the first leg, like a stork. The minute you told me it was a sign of autism in started noticing it in others too.

I didn’t mean your comment specifically 🙂 But Penelope has brought up the point several times that even if we read a lot, we have poor comprehension. I’m wondering if I built up a little logical construct in my mind that I’m a great reader when there is actually something else hiding behind my nice little mask?
On this learning journey about autism, I realize that I need to first stop masking / camouflaging from myself. I’m so practiced at it that I don’t know when I’m hiding from myself.

1) I wouldn’t even have noticed that her hair wasn’t brushed if P hadn’t pointed it out. Now I can’t unsee it.
2) Are we sure that’s a piano in the picture with the curtains? Looks to me like she’s just tapping on an keyboard working on her computer. I also have a piano at home and wanted to check what an “obviously bad piano” looks like but this… isn’t a piano? Am I nitpicking?

Turns out it doesn’t work with the WSJ but you sent me down a Reddit rabbit-hole and I found this Chrome extension which made it work: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/unlocker/offfjmhfpmhgenhkkalbmadpngolgcgp/related
You are my hero!
